Sandwich panels - General Informations:
Alulight® sandwich panels are available with adhesive or metallurgical bonded cover sheets. Due to production related reason there is a metallurgical joint between coversheets and porous aluminium foam core.
To produce a sandwich panel a mixture of aluminium powder and foaming agent is rolled to a sheet. Cover sheets can be rolled on the precursor sheet before foaming to get an metallurgical bonding or glued on the foamed panel afterwards.
Due to the pure metal composition of sandwich panels with metallurgical bonding these panels can be joined like common aluminium.
Therefore Alulight® sandwich panels may be:
- welded (coversheets)
- screwed
- riveted
without any particular precautions.
